South Korean shipbuilder Hyundai Mipo Dockyard (HMD) plans to secure 90 newbuilding orders in 2019 and is targeting more contracts for gas carriers as it looks to expand its reach.
Speaking to TradeWinds at the naming ceremony of the HMD-built, 7,500-cbm LNG bunker vessel (LNGBV) Kairos (built 2018) in the German city of Hamburg, chief executive and president HD Shin said the yard has seen a pick up in orders from the end of last month.
