Hyundai Mipo Dockyard clinches $300m of methanol orders from four owners

Hyundai Mipo Dockyard (HMD) has quietly built up its orderbook with methanol carriers worth close to $300m.

Four companies have signed up for a total of seven 50,000-dwt tankers that will also run on methanol, say industry sources.

Sweden’s Marinvest, and Japan’s NYK Line and Meiji Shipping have each booked two vessels, while MOL has signed up for a single newbuilding.
