Saudi Arabian shipowner Bahri is said to have chosen Hyundai Mipo Dockyard (HMD) over China’s New Times Shipbuilding to build six firm 50,000-dwt product tankers and four optional vessels.
Industry players told Trade-Winds that a letter of intent for the high-spec vessels had been inked and that state-owned Bahri will sign the contract with the South Korean shipbuilder by July.
