South Korea's Hyundai Heavy Industries (HHI) has filed an application for a Chinese review of its proposed mega-merger with compatriot DSME.
China's State Administration for Market Regulation will examine the issue in terms of its effects on competition, Business Korea reported.
It has 120 days to decide.
