Navantia UK will fully acquire Harland & Wolff’s four UK shipyards, both companies confirmed.
The subsidiary of Spanish state-owned shipbuilder Navantia will now oversee the sites at Belfast in Northern Ireland, Appledore in England, and Methil and Arnish in Scotland.
The move will protect more than 1,000 jobs and strengthen “Britain’s defence, maritime and clean energy industrial capabilities”.
