South Korea’s Hanjin Heavy Industries & Construction (HHIC) wants to relocate its major domestic shipbuilding base in Busan to a bigger site.
The Yeongdo yard will be relocated from southeastern Busan to another wharf within the port city so that it can focus on special purpose vessels, Maeil Business reported.
The original 260,000-square-metre yard was built near the old town district in 1937.
