Workers at Hanjin Heavy Industries and Construction (HHIC) in the Philippines could go on strike in a dispute over representation.

The Manila Times reported that staff are seeking an election to recognise a union at the Subic Bay shipbuilder.

Trade Union Congress of the Philippines (AMAPO-TUCP) head Roberto Flores said a walk-out could happen soon.

He added the organisation has already organised unions at all 18 HHIC sub-contractors.
