South Korea's Hanjin Heavy Industries & Construction has clinched an order for the country's first multi-purpose very large oil response ship (OSRV).
It said the deal is worth KRW 70bn ($60m).
State-run Korea Marine Environment Management Corporation has booked the 5,000-gt unit for delivery in 2022.
The state has more than 60 small OSRVs of around 500 gt.
But their size has limited clean-up capacity in bad weather, the Yonhap news agency reported.
