Italy’s Grimaldi Group has inked an order worth up to $1bn for up to 10 ammonia-ready pure car/truck carriers (PCTCs).
The Naples-based company today signed a contract for five 9,000-ceu vessels with China Merchants Heavy Industry Jiangsu, with options for a further five vessels.
Delivery will be between 2025 and 2026, when the vessels will be deployed on voyages between Europe, North Africa and Asia.
