The German state has bought bankrupt MV Werften’s shipyard in Rostock, in a move that signals the end of cruise ship building there.
The shipbuilder went bust in January as its parent, cruise giant Genting Hong Kong, also collapsed.
The Rostock plant is expected to be turned into a site for making military equipment.
