A French wine and chocolate firm that has operated the world’s first modern cargo sailboat to meet international maritime regulations for more than a year is to build a second much larger vessel.

Grain de Sail’s first 50-tonne capacity vessel transported 55% of the cacao mass used in its chocolate factory across the Atlantic during 2021, and the company aims to have a second ship with a 350-tonne payload sailing by the end of 2023.
