Golar LNG has signed agreements for the conversion of its laid up LNG carrier Gandria (built 1977) to serve as the liquefaction unit for its 2.5-million tonne per annum floating LNG (FLNG) production project Fortuna FLNG off Equatorial Guinea.
Main project developer Ophir Energy said the 126,000-cbm Gandria vessel, which is due to converted at Singapore’s Keppel Shipyard, will be acquired by the Fortuna Joint Operating Company once a final investment decision is signed in mid-2017.
