Italian shipbuilder Fincantieri will list in Australia if it wins a big naval contract.
Dario Deste, chairman of Fincantieri Australia, said the move to the Australian Stock Exchange (ASX) is contingent on it winning an AUD 35bn ($27bn) deal for new Australian warships.
Deste told ABC that listing on ASX would allow Australian investor participation in Fincantieri Australia.
Fincantieri and sub-contractors would also construct cruiseship blocks in Australia from 2018 as a way of training the local workforce in its methods.
