Damen and Fincantieri have been named as the two potential buyers of STX France.
The Dutch and Italian shipbuilding groups are thought to be going head-to-head to acquire the shipyard from Korea's STX group, according to several sources cited by French daily Le Monde.
"Two foreign candidates, Italy's Fincantieri and Holland's Damen are fighting over the last big French company of the [shipyard] sector," Le Monde said.
