The long-awaited entry into force of an international recycling regulation that will set minimum standards for ship-scrapping facilities could be as early as 2023.
A poll of leading shipbreaking experts at the TradeWinds Recycling Forum 2020 in London indicated that the Hong Kong International Convention for the Safe and Environmentally Sound Recycling of Ships will most likely enter into force between 2023 and 2025.
