Construction of the Bassin de Radoub graving dock in the Martiniquan capital of Fort-de-France started in 1864 and was the most important work undertaken in the French colony at that time. The 120-metre dock was inaugurated in 1868 and later extended to 200 metres during World War Two.
Today the dock, which is owned by port authority Grand Port Maritime de la Martinique (GPMM), is managed under concession by ENA Shipyard, a fully owned subsidiary of diversified local enterprise Group Thierry Larcher.
