Italian shipbuilding group Fincantieri should rebuild the Genoa bridge that suffered a fatal collapse earlier this month, according to deputy premier Luigi di Maio.

He wants to ensure that reconstruction is carried out under state control.

“Having Fincantieri and Cassa Depositi e Prestiti handle reconstruction will allow the state to have very strong control,” he said on Facebook.
