A 14-year-old boxship suffered so much damage in a collision last year that its Greek owners are offloading it for scrap.
The 5,018-teu Virgin Star (ex-CSL Virginia, built 2005) is being sold to Bangladeshi buyers, according to shipowning sources in Athens.
The vessel was managed by Andreas Hadjiyiannis company Cyprus Sea Lines. Vessel trackers show it as underway from a shipyard in Turkey's Yalova region towards Chittagong.
