Dae Sun Shipbuilding & Engineering has won an order for two 1,000-teu feeder containership newbuildings from South Korean shipowner Namsung Shipping.
A Dae Sun executive who confirmed the contract said the deal does not include any options.
The company said the ship’s newly developed hull form is designed to help achieve the International Maritime Organization's aim of a 40% reduction in shipping's carbon intensity by 2030.
