A group of 18 buses filled with striking Uljanik Shipyard workers headed to Croatia's capital Zagreb on Monday as protests over late wages continued.

About 400 employees from Uljanik and 500 from subsidiary 3 Maj made the trip, the Hina news agency said.

They staged a protest outside government headquarters as they sought July salaries.

They also intended to meet prime minister Andrej Plenkovic and economy minister Darko Horvat.
