Singapore-listed Yangzijiang Shipbuilding has secured $226m in orders for seven containerships and two bulk carriers from two separate Chinese shipping companies.
Intra-Asia feeder specialist SITC International Holdings Co has signed up for four 2,400-teu containerships, one of 2,700 teu and two of 1,800 teu. The total value of the order is $180m, according to a shipyard disclosure.
The single 2,700-teu newbuilding is a repeat of a design for three vessels booked by SITC two years ago, and now priced at $28m.
