The Chinese government has given its official approval to the merger of its two giant state-owned shipbuilding groups, China Shipbuilding Industry Corp (CSIC) and China State Shipbuilding Corp (CSSC).
The move has been nearly 10 years in the planning in a bid to boost operational efficiency.
