Turkish shipowner Akmar Denizcilik ordered an ultramax bulker at China’s Dalian Cosco KHI Ship Engineering (Dacks) in what is the company’s first expansion move in several years.
The Istanbul-based company confirmed it has ordered one firm 61,000-dwt vessel at the Chinese shipyard, to be delivered in 2020. No options are said to be attached to the deal.
No price information was given for the ship, which is believed to have been ordered to IMO Tier II standards.
