Damen Shipyards Group is celebrating its 90th anniversary after evolving from humble beginnings on the River Merwede in the Netherlands to a global niche player operating around 36 newbuilding and repair yards.
With 9,000 employees worldwide and turnover of €1.7bn, the group in 2016 delivered a total of 219 vessels.
Brothers Jan and Marinus Damen started the company in 1927.
