American Bureau of Shipping said it has won a $9m follow-on contract with the US Coast Guard (USCG) in relation to designs for future vessel needs.
The purchase agreement with the classification society's ABSG Consulting arm is with the USCG's technical division, which is helping design new cutter and polar ice breaker vessels.
ABSG says it will provide technical authority for human systems integration for the new vessels.
