India's debt-laden ABG Shipyard is selling its shiprepair subsidiary Western India Shipyard (WIS).
It has decided to invite bids for the yard, whose net loss between April and June was INR 1.71bn ($25.59m).
Last month, union leaders told TradeWinds the yard was set to pay the the salaries of around 400 workers due for the past 10 months.
Worker agitation since January has jeopardised operations, with activity falling back sharply from a high of over 25 ships repaired in 2014.
