Owners are being spurred to order more and more newbuildings by strong cash flows in healthy markets, Greece’s Xclusiv Shipbrokers believes.
The Athens shop also said the need for fleet renewal is forcing owners to the negotiating table with shipyards, despite rising prices for new vessels.
Xclusiv has tallied growth in the orderbook in all the four main vessel categories — bulkers, tankers, boxships and gas carriers.
