Several secondhand VLCCs and some hotly-watched scrubber-fitted newbuildings are reported sold or under negotiation at apparently firm prices, at the tanker market gets off to a strong start for 2020.
Brokers report that the 305,994-dwt Rigdebury Pride (built 2000) is believed sold to unnamed Greek buyers for $25m. The non-scrubber-fitted ship is due for special survey in November.
Affinity (Shipping) described the price as “firm” when compared to the 311,168-dwt Sino Macro (built 1999) which was committed in November at $20.5m.
