Major Greek containership owner Costamare has achieved a strong price in the demolition sale of one of its oldest pair of units.
Brokers report the 2,023-teu MSC Sierra II (built 1991) as sold to Indian buyers at $418 per ldt, in a deal fetching an estimated $3.5m for the US-listed owner. The price is said to be including 600 tons of bunkers on board.
