UK insurer International Transport Intermediaries Club (ITIC) has warned brokers and agents about allowing complacency to creep into their daily activities after a contract mix-up.
Carelessly sending out incorrect documents has the potential to cost clients dearly, ITIC said.
The warning arises from a case involving an unnamed shipbroker negotiating a short-term charter on behalf of a shipowner for whom the broker had worked for several years.
