Attica hosts cops on floating hotel as Greek migrant crisis rages

Yet another flare-up in Europe’s immigration crisis is providing gainful employment to ferries usually idle in the quiet winter months.

The Greek government has hired Attica Group’s 30,900-gt Superfast XI (built 2002) to serve as a floating hotel for police officers urgently deployed along the country’s eastern border to prevent masses of assembled migrants trying to enter the country from neighbouring Turkey.
