Richard Fulford-Smith, chief executive of Affinity (Shipping), has described the shipbrokers acquisition of Grieg Shipbrokers’ Asian capesize dry bulk operations as having been “highly amicable”.
The deal, which TradeWinds first broke last Friday, and went into effect on Monday, saw Affinity hire the former Grieg dry bulk chartering teams in Shanghai and Singapore, and agree to a new venture with Flaship in Singapore, which succeeds the arrangement the boutique brokerage previously had with Grieg.
