Finnish ship power group Wartsila has found "deviations" in fuel consumption tests on new vessel engines in Italy, blaming rogue employees for the results.
It carried out an internal audit of global processes to "secure compliance and to ensure operational excellence within the company," it said.
This uncovered deviations of an average of 1% of fuel consumption in Trieste, where a total of 2% of all deliveries may have been affected.
