The Norwegian offshore shipbuilder will construct its second4,000-dwt vessel to its PSV 1 08 design at Vung Tau.
Both vessels will be prepared for standby, rescue,firefighting and oil recovery operations, Vard announced today.
Delivery of the first unit is scheduled for the finalquarter of this year with the second to follow in the second quarter of 2015.
No price was revealed.
This is Vard’s second newbuilding order in as many daysfollowing a contract with offshore giant Bourbon for an anchor handling tug supplyvessel.
