The hull of the VARD 3 06 design vessel will be built at the Tulcea yard in Romania before being completed at Vard Langsten in Norway.
Delivery is scheduled for mid-2016, Vard said in a statement without revealing the identity of the owner behind the order or the pricetag.
However the vessel is a larger version of a similar design ordered by London-based Harkand two weeks ago for NOK 1bn ($165m).
