SwissMarine has reportedly sold the oldest capesize bulker within its owned fleet for demolition to Pakistani breakers.
The Peter Weernink-led company is said sold the 172,000-dwt Confignon (built 1997) for a reported $341 per ldt, according to shipbrokers.
SwissMarine will receive around $7.3m for the 21,327-ldt vessel, which will probably go down as the last capesize sold for scrap in 2016.
