US-listed Star Bulk Carriers continues to cut back its fleet with the sale of a 15-year-old capesize for demolition.
The 164,000-dwt bulker Star Monisha (built 2001) was sold to Bangladesh for $270 per ldt or $6.4m.
Some sources said the price was as high as $288 per ldt.
The bulker was among the ships that joined Star Bulk when it took over Excel Maritime of Greece two years ago.
