On the sidelines of the Shipping 2014conference in Connecticut the chief executive of SeaRiver Maritime hinted that 125,000-dwtKodiak(built 1978) and Sierra (built 1979) will likely be sold after itaccepts delivery of two aframaxes under construction at Aker Philadelphia Shipyard.
“These vessels were well built and havebeen well maintained and I am confident that they will continue to trade in theJones Act market in the foreseeable future but that will probably be with a newoperator,” he said when pressed about the future of Exxon’s fleet of US-flagtankers.
