Sovcomflot is to press ahead with an initial foray into the VLCC sector as it pens long-term charter contracts with a Chinese oil major.



The Sergey Frank-led tanker giant has, however, remained mum on much of the detail on its proposed move into the market with firm numbers noticeably absent from Tuesday's announcement.



Moscow-based Sovcomflot is to "take advantage of an option to enter the sectors of large-capacity VLCC tankers" in order to transport crude for China National Petroleum Corp (CNPC).
