Lebanon’s Global Management & Trading (GMT) has opted for India and Pakistan over Turkey to scrap two elderly ships from its fleet.
GMT’s 7,400-dwt general cargoship Shaza (built 1973) arrived off Alang this week and was awaiting beaching on the next high tide. It has also emerged that GMT's 6,200-dwt general cargoship Prince Hani (built 1976) went to Gadani Beach for recycling at the end of last month.
