State-owned Shipping Corporation of India (SCI) and Dredging Corporation of India (DCI) will be restricted to ordering new vessels at Indian shipyards – but only from 2025.
The move is part of draft guidelines written by the shipping ministry for implementing a new subsidy scheme aimed at helping Indian owners contract new ships, the Livemint website reported.
This will begin on 1 April and run for 10 years.
