The Shipping Corporation of India is planning a big clear out of its oldest vessels with up to 13 heading for demolition.
SCI has sent four elderly vessels for scrapping this year but is going to accelerate the programme according to a briefing company director, Arun Kumar Gupta, has given Indian media.
Gupta indicated that with 26 newbuildings under construction SCI wanted to dispose of uneconomic assets at a rapid pace.
