The Korean shipyard will net $85m apiece to construct fivecontainerships, it announced today.
Though Samsung does not reveal the size of the vesselsinvolved the price suggests an order for vessels in the region of 8,500-9,300-teu.
Delivery is set to begin in December 2015.
As we reported last week, Turkish owner Ciner Shipping hasbeen linked with an order for up to five post panamax boxships in Korea backedby charters with Hanjin Shipping.
