The Korean shipbuilder will carry out engineeringprocurement and construction (EPCIC) of the 1.5 million tonnes per annum (mtpa)floater in partnership with Japan’s JGC Corp.
SHI was in poll position for the contract having carriedout early stage engineering work on the project.
The news came in a statement in which Petronas formally confirmedprevious TradeWinds reports that it had given final approval on the project whichis due for start-up in 2018.
