Parakou sells final MR tanker in STX series

Parakou Tankers has sold the last in a series of STX Jinhae-constructed MR tankers to an undisclosed buyer.

The 51,000-dwt PTI Phoenix (built 2007), which has been carrying dirty oil cargoes, has been offloaded for $12m to $12.5m, US sources told TradeWinds.

Singapore-based Parakou did not reply to a request for comment.

In comparison, Doun Kisen of Japan sold the Onomichi Dockyard-built, 47,000-dwt MR tanker Silver Express (built 2009) to Greek owner Astra Shipmanagement for $15.3m
