An online German auction site has completed its first containership sale.
The sale of the 2,702-teu Buxharmony (built 2007) was concluded at an unexpectedly high price through the new VesselBid.com platform.
The sub-panamax feeder vessel is being sold to SITC International Holdings Co at what appears a new benchmark price for boxships of this size, according to European brokers.
The Chinese operator is understood to have bid around $14.3m
