Greek owner NewLead Holdings has revealed the purchase of a bulker as it unveiled a third-quarter loss despite sales rising sharply.
The Nasdaq-listed tanker and bulker owner has snapped up the 34,700-dwt handysize Newlead Prosperity (built 2003) which it has on bareboat charter.
Michael Zolotas and Nicholas Fistes-led NewLead has splashed out $24.5m on the ship which is expects to cover through a combination of debt and cash.
