In a statement the Nasdaq-quoted operator said it penned a contract to purchase the 670-berth Ocean Princess (built 1999) from Princess Cruises.
NCL didn’t shed light on the financial terms of the transaction but noted the vessel is going to undergo a $40m refurbishment in Marseille, France upon delivery in March 2016.
The company also pointed out that it purchased the ship, which will be renamed Sirena, on behalf of a subsidiary that currently oversees three cruiseships, Oceania Cruises.
