The company said the Meyer family had agreed to acquire the 30% it did not own from the Finnish state.

It bought a 70% stake in the former STX plant last year.

Meyer had a call option to grab the minority holding.

CEO Jan Meyer said acquiring Turku was a “big and strategic step” for the company.

“In general, I hope that our decision to buy all the shares is received as a sign of confidence that we can make Turku shipyard a long term shipbuilding success”, he added.
