A slump in tanker asset prices has continued with the latest transactions indicating a further tick down in the value of wet tonnage.
India Steamship’s pending sale of four LR2s and the reported sale of a Kyklades Maritime aframax to Minerva Marine are the latest data points identified.
Minerva is reported to have paid as little as $27m for the 115,700-dwt Nissos Kythnos (built 2011), which is described as “rock bottom” by one sale-and-purchase specialist.
